Enio Sacilotto brings 29 years of coaching experience to the Victoria Royals as he resumes the role of assistant coach he held with the Chilliwack Bruins last season, where he helped the team to a 33-31-0-4 record and a WHL Playoff berth.
A Vancouver, BC native, Sacilotto brings a wealth of teaching and coaching experience with him to Victoria. A specialist in video analysis, practice planning, drill design and mental preparation. Sacilotto will be an invaluable resource for the Royals organization.
The 53-year-old’s coaching exploits have taken him around world. He has been a head coach for 20 seasons including stops in professional leagues in Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Denmark and England, highlighted by back-to-back Italian Serie A2 championships behind the benches of Merano and Courmaosta respectively. He also led Lugano to the Gold Medal in the Swiss National League A for the 1998-99 season.
Sacilotto has previously spent time in the junior ranks as a head coach and general manager in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Penticton Vees for three seasons, where he was named BCHL Coach of the Year for the 1994-95 season after amassing a record of 42-16-2. Before joining the Chilliwack franchise last season, Sacilotto took his love of the game to Croatia, coaching their national U-20 and U-18 teams in 2009-2010.
